Every week our Brownie group has an inspection where each girl has the opportunity to earn up to three beads.  Each girl saves their beads from week to week in their own special drawer.  At the end of the year we make a special craft with the beads that we earned at inspection.  Here is the checklist that I follow when inspecting the girls:

Inspection Checklist:

Bead #1    Full Uniform.  The girls must have their full uniform on, including badge scarf and orange tie.  The tie must be worn around the neck and tied (not worn as a bandana on the head).  If badges were handed out last week, the new badges must be sewn on.  If a girl has a badge sewn on improperly, I will show her the reference page in the book.  The first time she will still earn her bead, however if it is not corrected the second week, she will not earn the bead.  If wearing a dress the belt and change purse must be on.

*Important note: If a girl forgets to wear her uniform she does not have the opportunity to earn any beads.

Bead #2    Neat Appearance.  The girls must look neat and tidy.  Hair should not be in her eyes or look uncombed.  Her face must be clean as well.  Hands should be clean, free of paint or marker.  Nails should be clean, no visible dirt under the nails.  If nails are painted, the polish must be free of chips, and must be on the fingernail only (not over the skin as well).

Bead #3    Socks and Shoes.  Girls must have socks and shoes on their feet.  Shoes can be brown, black, or white in colour, sneakers of the same colours are also allowed.  No brightly coloured shoes.  If wearing a dress girls should wear brown, black or white socks or tights.  Girls wearing pants should wear the same coloured socks, however they may wear other colours as long as the socks are not visible.  For safety reasons, girls must always wear shoes on their feet and not wear slippers or sandals.
